Dr. Shonda Green, Taylor County High School Principal

Principal's Welcome Message

On behalf of the faculty and staff at Taylor County High School, welcome to the 2016-2017 school year!

The students at Taylor County High School are our inspiration. We are here to help ensure that each student reaches his/her maximum potential by providing a quality education to include rigorous academics, engaging extracurricular activities, and meaningful community relations. Likewise, we encourage students be of good character by being a CHAMP. To be a CHAMP, students are expected to daily display actions in which they are: Courteous, Honorable, Accountable, Motivated, Prepared. We will use the CHAMP matrix to communicate to students what this means in various settings in our school. This expectation will be deeply ingrained into the culture of Taylor County High School. This will assist us in maintaining a structured, well-disciplined school in every regard.

It is important for faculty, staff, parents, and students to become partners in this educational journey. We encourage communication and collaboration between the home and the school. We strive to build a strong partnership with our families and the community for the benefit of increasing the success of our students. We welcome your engagement in our school’s activities.

This handbook contains essential information regarding the policies, rules, procedures, and opportunities available at Taylor County High School. We hope this resource is helpful.

We wish you a successful school year. Please contact us with any questions or concerns at 478-862-3314 or contact me directly via email at [email protected].
