  • Annual Senior Trip to Probe Fair

    The TCHS Senior students attended the Probe College Fair at Georgia Southwestern in Americus on October 5, 2017.  



  • Impressive Results For 2017 Cohort Graduation Rate
    The Taylor County School District has excelled in its 4-year cohort graduation rate for the year 2017.  The 2017 4-year cohort graduation rate is 86.316%, which surpassed the state cohort graduation rate of 80.556%.  Congratulations students, faculty, and staff!  
  • Early Release Day - Friday, October 6
    As indicated on our 2017- 2018 school calendar, Taylor County Schools will have an early release for students on Friday, October 6, 2017. Bus students and car riders will be dismissed at the following times:

    Taylor County Primary School – 11:30 a.m.

    Taylor County Upper Elementary – 11:45 a.m.

    Taylor County Middle and High Schools – 12:00 p.m.

  • Important Announcement from the Taylor County School District
    Taylor County Schools announce that they will have delayed dismissal times on August 21, 2017 due to the solar eclipse.  This decision was made to ensure the safety of our students, faculty, and staff. Parents are encouraged to follow the release times that have been set forth by the district.  The schools will use this opportunity to educate students on the science encompassing the solar eclipse.  Bus students and car riders will be dismissed at the following times:

    Taylor County Primary School – 3:20p.m.
    Taylor County Upper Elementary – 3:30p.m.
    Taylor County Middle and High Schools – 3:40p.m.

  • 2017-2018 Dress Code

    TCHS STUDENT DRESS CODE for 2017-2018 School Year

    Each student must dress in a manner which is appropriate for school and its related activities. Good personal appearance, appropriate dress, proper behavior, and a healthy personal hygiene are vital to each member of the school community. Developing good taste in dress, good grooming habits, and good behavior are a part of the overall educational program. Students dressed inappropriately can have a negative influence on the educational process and the educational climate of the school. The Taylor County School District believes that this dress code promotes comfort and safety while enhancing the overall learning environment for the students.

    1.       Leggings, jeggings, pajama-like pants, skintight stretch pants, and “body” dresses are not allowed.

    2.       Sagging or extremely baggy pants are not allowed. All pants MUST be worn at the natural waistline.

    3.       Sleeveless shirts/blouses and/or shirts/blouses that expose the shoulders (cold-shoulder) are not permitted.

    4.       Pants/clothing with cuts, rips, or holes are not allowed; ripped/frayed jeans and pants not allowed.

    5.        Headgear of any kind (hats, headbands, sweatbands, bandanas, scarves, sunglasses, etc.) is not allowed. Females are allowed to wear headbands as a hair accessory.

    Males are not allowed to wear headgear; there may be exceptions, such as hat day fundraisers, Halloween, etc.

    6.       Shoes must be worn at all times. Bedroom shoes, stilettos, and wheeled shoes are not allowed.

    7.       All belts will be buckled.

    8.       Shorts, skirts, dresses must come to the knee.

    Cheerleaders CANNOT wear uniforms in class/during the school day.

    9.       Shirts/Blouses/Sweaters which expose the bare midriff are not permitted.

    10.   See-through clothing is not allowed (regardless of what is worn underneath).

    11.   Clothing which shows cleavage is not allowed.

    12.   Gang related paraphernalia is not allowed.

    13.   Clothing with inappropriate advertising or statements that are lewd, offensive, vulgar, obscene, or inflammatory (e.g. alcohol, drugs, tobacco, sex, gangs, etc.) is not allowed.

    14.   Any type of unusual or questionable wear will be judged on an individual basis by school administration.



    Purses must not be larger than 12 inches wide.

  • TCHS Students Attend Youth Conference At Fort Valley State University


    Several TCHS students attended the Youth Conference hosted by Fort Valley State University on Wednesday, April 6.  One of the speakers at the conference was Jon Chaffin from the hit series "The Haves and The Have Nots."

  • JROTC Unarmed Drill Platoon Wins State Championship

    Congratulations to our unarmed drill platoon for winning the state championship for the second time on Saturday, March 18th. Team members are Kiera Stinson, John Walker, Kobe Culpepper, Savannah Brown, Markevia Myles, Aaron Summers, Nicholas Dykes, Ashley Logue, Jessica Withrow, Madison Walker, David Walker, Amber Guined, Clifford Brazziel. Mega Hooah!

  • JROTC Drill Team - Region Champs

    Congrats to our JROTC drill teams for winning the region championship on Saturday, March 4th for the 4th consecutive year. The teams placed first in five events and second in two events. Teams will be headed to state competition on Saturday, March 18th for the 7th consecutive year. Hooah!
